Black Hat - built by and for the global InfoSec community - returns to Las Vegas for its 18th year. This six day event begins with four days of intense Trainings for security practitioners of all levels (August 1-4) followed by the two-day main event including over 100 independently selected Briefings, Business Hall, Arsenal, Pwnie Awards, and more (August 5-6).
We are proud to have Scott Johnson, Tim MalcomVetter, Mark Baseggio and Bart Stump present at BlackHat this year.
Who/What: During this presentation, which will take place in the Arsenal tool/demo area, security consultants Scott Johnson and Tim MalcomVetter will co-present a demonstration of the Burp-Hash, a new Burp Suite plugin designed to enable cyber security professionals to perform better audits of web applications. This tool helps identify the presence of certain vulnerabilities and ultimately saves web applications from subtle, yet impactful vulnerabilities.

Breaking Access Controls with BLEKey
Who/What: In this briefing session, Mark Baseggio, managing principal consultant, will co-present a demonstration on how to defeat access controls using an RFID skimmer called BLEKey. This new open-source hardware device is designed to be embedded in an RFID reader to exploit the Wiegand communication protocol used by the majority of access control systems today. Session attendees will learn how this new tool can be valuable for understanding the risks associated with insecure access controls and what steps companies can take to lower the risk of access control attacks.
When/Where: Thursday, August 6, 11:00 – 11:50 a.m. PDT/Lagoon K
Dance Like Nobody’s Watching, Encrypt Like Everyone Is: A Peek Inside the Black Hat Network
