That means creating an environment where employees can grow personally and professionally, feel connected to one another and know they have access to resources that support their needs. That commitment came to life recently during the third annual One Optiv Community Fair, which brought together approximately 500 employees from across the globe for 90 minutes of connection, learning and community. Employees had the opportunity to learn more about Optiv’s Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), participate in meditation for a mid-day reset, celebrate accomplishments and connect with colleagues through interactive games and specialty breakout sessions. “To have nearly 40% of our global workforce rally around and support this voluntary event was a huge win,” said Marlee McAlpine, senior inclusion manager. “There was high energy and strong engagement with employees from the United States, Canada and India.” “It gave people permission to take a break from the day to day and connect, because that’s one of Optiv’s core values,” she added. Turning Employee Feedback Into Action One of the fair’s highlights was the formal launch of Optiv CARES, the company’s eighth ERG. The Optiv Caregivers Alliance for Resources, Empathy and Support was created in response to employees asking for greater awareness and support for those balancing work with caring for aging parents, spouses, partners, children, chronically ill loved ones or others who depend on them. That support extends beyond the ERG itself. As part of the 2027 benefits package, Optiv’s Benefits team is introducing Support for Caregivers solutions at no cost to employees. The offering includes access to customized learning content, nursing coaches who can assist with clinical plans, support for caregivers and those receiving care, and a caregiving marketplace connecting employees with additional resources. “We continue to see growth in participation in our ERGs, and those groups are working more cross-functionally to make a greater impact and bring visibility to this important work,” McAlpine said. “We listen to our people, and we tie their needs directly into our business strategy.” Each ERG also receives executive sponsorship at the leadership level. It is embedded in the company’s core values of Dedicated, Connected and Inclusive. Earlier this year, the ADAPT employee resource group partnered with Optiv’s Benefits and IT teams to develop Access Granted, a webinar focused on assistive technology and workplace accessibility resources. The collaboration demonstrated how Optiv is moving beyond awareness to help create a more accessible and inclusive employee experience. Through live demonstrations designed to support different learning needs, employees learned more about available accessibility resources and how to access additional layers of support. “We are at a place in our inclusion maturity where we are getting feedback from across the organization that people feel like there is truly something for everyone here,” McAlpine said. “That’s important because it reinforces a point we want to drive through everything we do, which is inclusion is for everyone.” Looking Ahead As Optiv looks toward 2027, ERG leaders and executive sponsors are working together to connect employee feedback with broader business priorities. With planning already underway for next year’s Community Fair and efforts to expand steering committees globally, the focus remains on creating meaningful ways for employees to connect, find support and help shape the workplace around them. Because when people feel supported as whole people, they are better positioned to grow, contribute and deliver for one another and for clients.
