From providing meals to families in need to supplying refurbished computers that advance learning for tomorrow’s cyber leaders, our goal is to make an enduring impact. Core to these efforts is our belief that empowering the next generation doesn’t begin with technology. We support the whole student and are committed to meeting their most basic needs first so they can see themselves in cyber and thrive when it comes to science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) learning opportunities. From Denver, Colorado, to Bangalore, India, from annual Optiv Kick-Off campaigns to our ongoing OptivCon events, our people and partners are looking for ways to make a difference. For all of us, giving back isn’t a requirement — it’s an opportunity and a privilege. Image Operation Breakthrough: Building Opportunity In Optiv’s headquarters’ city, Operation Breakthrough has been a longstanding community partner. The non profit organization provides a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty and empowers their families through advocacy, aid and education. Over several years of multi-year grant support, volunteerism and furniture donations, Optiv has built out a dedicated STEAM Lab and Makerspace within the facility. Funding from Optiv goes toward purchasing dedicated cybersecurity software, program licenses and bringing certified instructors on site for teach sessions. Targeting underserved middle and high school-aged students, Optiv provides support for daytime and after-school STEAM workshops, including the evening Coding Club and Saturday Robotic Workshop, as well as helping provide practical technical skills that can lead to industry-relevant certifications.
