Breadcrumb Home Insights Blog Making a Positive Impact Where It Counts: 2022 Optiv Chips In Year in Review December 20, 2022 The end of the year is often a time of reflection, and as I look back on 2022, I’m blown away by the tremendous commitment and effort from my colleagues and our partners. Optiv Chips In set out to focus on our people, the importance of our community involvement and how each one of us can make a positive impact. After all the events, meals packed, and volunteer hours logged, I’d say we accomplished more than we ever thought possible in a single year. How We Chipped In This year, we helped feed families in need, donated hygiene kits to help homeless teens get on their feet and created STEM projects for organizations and kids in underfunded school districts. Ways we chipped in included: Image Through our collective donations, time and compassion, the people of Optiv also forged relationships with many appreciative nonprofits that sent thank you letters from across the country. Here are a few of my favorite excerpts: “What our children need most is exactly what you gave them: learning opportunities and supportive adults who share the students’ excitement about their talents and potential.” - Operation Breakthrough“Thank you for your very kind and generous donation of 350 hygiene care kits to Robyne’s Nest. Events like the one you welcomed us to have more than just practical rewards. Being surrounded by community- minded people gives us energy to continue on with the hard work.” - Robyne’s Nest“With Optiv’s involvement, you were able to help provide 345 meals. This could be the difference between a child eating on the weekend, or a senior skipping their medication to stretch their budget.” - North Texas Food Bank And last but not least, our final community call to action of 2022 was Giving Tuesday, an annual generosity movement encouraging people and organizations to help transform their communities and the world. Once again, Optiv Nation showed up and doubled the donation rate for companies similar in size, investing nearly $32,000 into organizations across the U.S. and Canada this holiday season. Bravo! Looking Ahead As we head into the new year, I’m excited to share enhancements to Optiv Chips In that will connect our community efforts to what we do as an organization. In line with our mission to support underserved populations through industry investments, community projects and employee mobilization, our updated program focus areas will allow Optiv to make a positive impact on our industry while continuing to connect with meaningful causes important to our people. For our industry: We want to partner with likeminded organizations to help foster the next generation of cybersecurity leaders. This gives us a chance to invest in students early on, introducing them to cybersecurity at a young age to capture their attention and open career paths. For our people: Our people are the heartbeat of Optiv Chips In. We want to continue to give them a variety of ways to get involved and also support their community passions. This past year taught me that we truly are stronger together. Connecting with my peers through these community engagements has given me the opportunity to learn about where they came from, the struggles they’ve faced and their “why” — what truly makes them tick when it comes to giving back. I look forward to harnessing our collective passions to do good, drive lasting change and secure greatness in the world around us. I couldn’t be prouder of the people behind these efforts, and the best part is, we’re just getting started. Thank you to all the Optiv teams who participated and supported our mission to do good.
