Hacking the Help Desk: No Ticket Required
The help desk plays an important role in the smooth operation of IT. The help desk is a critical conduit between the end-user and mission critical systems and applications, and has a heightened level of access to IT operations. As such, they are the target of hackers looking to gain access to a company’s business assets. Florindo Gallicchio, executive advisor in Optiv’s Office of the CISO, will present the hacker’s perspective in targeting and exploiting vulnerabilities in the help desk organization and its functions. Florindo will provide real-world anecdotes of his personal experience in conducting penetration testing against the help desk, as well as offer advice on what the help desk can do to securely carry out its mission.
