Denver – September 12, 2013 – Accuvant, the Authoritative Source for information security, today announced that it has been named to the Inc. 500|5000 for the seventh year in a row. Since the list’s inception more than 30 years ago, only 356 companies – out of seven million employee-based companies in the United States annually – have appeared on the Inc. 500|5000 seven or more times.
This year, Accuvant earned the No. 2,324 overall ranking and No. 35 spot on the “Top Security Companies” listing based on three-year revenue growth of 157 percent. This is in comparison to the 142 percent medium growth rate of 2013 Inc. 500|5000 companies.
“Our unrivaled passion for security and ability to deliver on our commitment to client success, results and quality are the primary reasons Accuvant continues to be so successful year after year,” said Dan Burns, Accuvant co-founder and chief executive officer. “We strive to provide unprecedented value to our clients, partners, employees and shareholders. Being recognized as one of the country’s fastest-growing companies yet again is a testament to that value and to the superior work we do.”
“Not all the companies in the Inc. 500|5000 are in glamorous industries, but in their fields they are as famous as household name companies simply by virtue of being great at what they do. They are the hidden champions of job growth and innovation, the real muscle of the American economy,” said Eric Schurenberg, Inc. magazine’s editor in chief.
Earlier this year, Accuvant was named by CRN magazine as one of North America’s top solution providers.
The 2013 Inc. 500|5000 is ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2009 to 2012. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2009. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent – not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies – as of December 31, 2012. The minimum revenue required for 2009 is $100,000; the minimum for 2012 is $2 million.
