MTTD - Mean Time to Detect

MTTD is the average length of time it takes a cybersecurity team to discover incidents in their environment.

The lower an organization's Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) the more likely they will be to limit any damage done by a cyber incident. Things that can help organizations lower their MTTD include Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR) technologies, understanding your risk profile, robust cyber resiliency programs, and incident response plans. Lowering MTTD helps reduce Dwell Time.
