UEBA (User and Entity Behavior Analytics) and UBA (User Behavior Analytics)

These are systems that apply advanced analytics including machine learning to establish a baseline for the behavior of various users and/or entities (in this case, technology elements such as servers, applications, network traffic, databases, etc.) interacting with a corporate network.

UEBA and UBA solutions use advanced analytics including machine learning to establish a baseline for the behavior of various users and/or entities (in this case, technology elements such as servers, applications, network traffic, databases, etc.) interacting with a corporate network. These tools flag any behavior that deviates from the established baseline as a potential security incident worth evaluating further. UEBA functionality is being rapidly integrated into other security tools and is becoming less prominent as a stand-alone market. UEBA is considered a comprehensive description of this solution since it includes both users and entities.
