What Is the SDLC - Software Development Lifecycle?

The software development lifecycle (SDLC) is a framework used to detail commonly accepted discrete phases and associated requirements that comprise the full software development process.

This formalized approach allows for the efficient delivery of high-quality applications and services. There are many SDLC models in general use, with models such as DevOps and DevSecOps gaining in popularity due to the inherent benefits of agility and integrating security testing early into the SDLC.
